The Clinch found its way to the pages of Sports Illustrated back on April 24, 1989:

The only other spot in the U.S. where fish shooting is allowed is Scott County, Va., on the Clinch River. Even in Vermont, it is permitted only on Lake Champlain.

Just joined this forum and thought I would introduce myself. My name is Jeremiah and I live in Blackwater, VA. Have just started fishing the Clinch within the last few years and this past summer canoed from 23 down to Kyles Ford along with a short trip this weekend. Here are some pics

Each year the DFIG does an electric shock of the our local waters to get a sample of the fish population in the area. Here are some of the biggest bass they have shocked out of these small lakes.

Hi Everyone,

My name is Rick. I'm a new member and this is my first post. I've fished all my life, but I have been smallmouth bass fishing fanatically for about 15 years. I live in Southwest Virginia, and I fish mostly on the Clinch. Well, I just wanted to introduce myself, and give a little info. I look forward to learning a lot and sharing knowledge on this forum about smallmouth bass.

Does anyone know of or use a good river kayak for fishing. I'd like to find a good one man kayak that I can take out on the Clinch with out having to load up a john boat.
